My insurance company wants to refer me to another shop. Why and what can I do?

Q: What is the "deductible" ? Do I have to pay it?
A: The deductible is a part of the cost of repairs that you have agreed to in your policy to keep your insurance premium lower. You are responsible for paying this amount (deemed by your insurance company according to the type of claim it is) and the insurance company pays the remainder.

Q: Will you be able to match my paint?
A: We have a computerized paint mixing system which give us access to over 100,000 paint formulas so the part we painted will be undetectable.

Q: What if South Side's Allstar Collision Center's estimate is more than the one from my insurance company?
A: No Problem! Insurance companies know that there might be additional repairs necessary so they have a system for approving them. And most of the time they will pay us directly so you don't have to worry about coming up with money.

Q: Do I have to get two different estimates?
A: There is no law that requires you to get two estimates. In most insurance cases an estimate from a body shop is not necessary because the shop has to work directly from the insurance estimate when doing auto repairs. Obtaining two estimates is a courtesy to a person at fault who wishes to pay out of pocket.

Q: What is the difference between Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) parts vs. after market parts?
A: OEM parts are made by the same manufacturer as the genuine part you would receive from your local automotive dealer. It's the original part, made by your car manufacturer, and costs more than after market parts. Aftermarket parts are just the opposite of OEM parts. These parts are produced by companies other than the original manufacturer, cost less than the original part, and may be of lower quality.

A: Some insurance companies (not all) may want to refer you to other repair shops. You have the right to choose your collision repair shop. If you have questions on your insurance rights, contact us....we know your rights.
